Someone who is "looking for the cat’s fifth paw" is over-complicating something by finding little defects or ridiculous arguments
Whenever I want to start a project, I end up finding little excuses not to do it. Like this story, for example. Before I started writing, I asked myself: What if people don't like it? What if it doesn't explain very well what it means to "look for the cat's fifth paw"? Maybe I better start writing about another idiom? But… which one? And what happens if I exceed the 100 words? What if I just do this tomorrow? ... But my best friend told me to stop looking for the cat's fifth paw and just start writing. So I did.
Siempre que quiero empezar un proyecto termino encontrando pequeñas excusas para no hacerlo. Como esta historia, por ejemplo. Antes de sentarme a escribir me pregunté: ¿Y si a la gente no le gusta? ¿Y si no explica muy bien qué significa "buscarle la quinta pata al gato’"? ¿Será que mejor comienzo a escribir sobre otra expresión idiomática? ¿Si es así, cuál? ¿Y qué pasa si me paso de las 100 palabras? ¿Y si mejor escribo mañana?... Pero mi mejor amiga me dijo que dejara de buscarle la quinta pata al gato y simplemente comenzara a escribir. Así que lo hice.
