In Venezuela, “the little soup” is the most teased and
verbally-bullied person in a group of people
One would think that in adulthood the chances of becoming the little soup of your group of friends get smaller. People usually grow up and become more friendly and considerate ... or maybe just less mean. They should also have more constructive things to do than go around teasing and bullying other people. But sometimes things are not as you think. It only took for me to want to spend a little less on hairdressing and do my own highlights at home to become the new laughingstock of the group and be called names such as "the zebra" or "the tigress".
Uno pensaría que en la adultez las probabilidades de convertirse en la sopita de tu grupo de amigos son cada vez menores. La gente normalmente madura y es cada vez más amable y considerada… o simplemente es menos rata. Además, deberían tener cosas más constructivas que hacer que andar fastidiando y burlándose de la gente. Pero a veces las cosas no son como uno piensa. Bastó con que quisiera ahorrarme los gastos de peluquería y me hiciera las mechas sola en mi casa para ser el nuevo hazmerreír del grupo y recibir nuevos apodos como “la cebrita” o “la tigresa”.
